Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 26, 2026
This policy explains how MusEQ mobile, the iPhone app, handles your information.
The short version: MusEQ mobile doesn't collect any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.
1. Information stored on your devices
The headphones and EQ profiles you add are saved as files on your iPhone. If iCloud Drive is turned on, they're stored in your own iCloud account, which keeps them in sync with MusEQ on your other devices that use the same Apple Account. That data is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we can't see it.
The app also keeps a few settings on your iPhone, such as the name and identifier of the DAC you last used, the profile you last sent to it, and whether you've seen the welcome guide. These never leave your device.
2. Bluetooth
MusEQ mobile uses Bluetooth only to find your DAC, connect to it, and send EQ settings to it. It doesn't use Bluetooth to determine your location, and nothing about your Bluetooth devices is sent to us.
3. OPRA database downloads
When you open the OPRA library, the app downloads the OPRA EQ database from opra.museq-app.com. This request doesn't include any personal information or identifiers from the app. As with any website, our hosting provider handles standard connection information, such as your IP address, in order to deliver the file. We don't use it to identify you or combine it with other information.
4. What we don't do
- We don't collect personal data, usage analytics, or crash reports.
- We don't show ads or track you across apps and websites.
- We don't include third-party analytics or advertising code in the app.
- We don't sell or share your information.
5. Links to other websites
The app links to museq-app.com and to the OPRA project on GitHub. These open in Safari, and those websites have their own privacy practices.
6. Children
MusEQ mobile isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
7. Deleting your data
You can delete headphones and profiles in the app. Deleting the app removes its data from your iPhone. To remove data stored in iCloud, delete the headphones and profiles in the app first, or manage your iCloud storage in the Settings app.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
